The Solair chair, also known as the Motel chair, was designed in 1972 by Montreal architects Fabio Fabiano and Michelange Panzini. Inspired by Expo 67 and Canada's Centennial, the chair uses a new injection-molded plastic technology with a steel base to create a lightweight, durable, and stylish indoor-outdoor chair. The Solair chair became a Canadian design icon and a fixture in North American motels, pools, and cottages, symbolizing Canadian creativity and practicality.
